Downtown Norfolk
Last week brought word that developers have purchased the Union Mission in Downtown Norfolk and plan to renovate the historic building into affordable rental units. This news comes as the Downtown Norfolk Council works to bring more retail stores to Granby Street, light rail construction moves ahead and people continue to wonder 'What is going to happen with Waterside?'. Dr. Rubens J. Pamies
Rubens J. Pamies, M.D.,FACP, is Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean for Graduate Studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Pamies recently gave the key-note presentation at the 14th Annual L.D. Britt, MD, Scholarship Fund Dinner on the issue of minority health disparities. The information presented was interesting, startling and timely, especially given the ongoing debates surrounding the issue of health care reform. We hope you'll tune in!
If you're interested in learning more Dr. Pamies co-authored a book titled Multicultural Medicine and Health Disparities with former US Surgeon General Dr. David Satcher.
