Piecing The Puzzle Together - Autism Awareness Month
One in eighty-eight children cope with autism, according to the latest report released by the CDC.  The 78% increase over the past decade begs the question: are cases of Autism Spectrum Disorders on the rise, or have diagnostic techniques simply become more effective?  Today on HearSay, Cathy is joined by professionals on the front lines helping those affected by autism.  We’ll discuss the changing landscape of autism diagnosis and  treatment, as well as the challenges facing educators and parents of autistic children.

The threat of gang violence in Hampton Roads is real.  According to the FBI, a growing number of our nation's youth are taking part in gang-related activity.  Mistakenly considered a "big city problem," gangs continue to operate and create issues across our region.  We're joined on HearSay by authors and law enforcement experts to discuss the ways that communities can take a more active role in combating gang and youth violence.

The Arab Spring 
The December of 2010 saw a revolutionary wave of protests, demonstrations and even civil war sweep across the Arab world.  The phenomenon came to be known as the "Arab Spring." As part of its ongoing lecture series Old dominion University has gathered experts to shed new light on this regional transformation and upheaval.  The lecturers and moderator join HearSay host Cathy Lewis in advance of their April 3rd and 4th talks at the Batten Arts and Letters Building, on ODU's main campus.
