A Chance in Hell

This weekend, the Virginian-Pilot begins a five-part series on the medical staff at the Navy-run hospital at Kandahar Airfield. Since the start of the war, more than 100 doctors, nurses and corpsmen from Portsmouth Naval Medical Center have served there. On today’s show, we’ll talk with the reporter and photographer about their experiences in Afghanistan and the local medical staff who serve in that warzone.
