A More Perfect European Union

Europe Day 2012 comes at a time of much contentious discussion over the socioeconomic future of the European Union.  Hampton Road’s long role as a hub for international commerce and trade had fostered a level of trans-Atlantic interdependency that directly links the EU’s prosperity to our own.  Cathy Lewis is joined by local experts in international relations and finance to explore how the challenges facing the world’s dominant regional organization might impact Hampton Roads.  We'll also explore François Hollande's victory over Nicholas Sarkozy and what this shift in power means for France as well as Europe.

Fostering the entrepreneurial spirit across our region is one of the key goals of the Hampton Roads Partnership. Its "Economic Gardening Network" strives to stimulate new business formation and further innovation across the region.  These initiatives will be the highlight of this year’s Regional Day conference.  In our first-half of the program, HearSay host Cathy Lewis will talk with guests about how connecting entrepreneurs with new funding sources is changing the economic landscape of Hampton Roads.
